The characteristics of these Thermal Baths of San Casciano dei Bagni were known since the times of Horace. The poem writer Cesare Scotti, wrote a poem in 1704, describing the beauty of the Thermal Baths. These baths - most famous water source Siconcella - have the third largest water flow in Europe and beneficial properties for hepatic diseases; while the sludge is better used for rheumatism.

Horse Handling

There is a horse handling facility 500 meters away from the company’s facilities (500 meters from San Lorenzo, 3 kilometers from Collolungo) with riding school, FISE certified instructors, and programs for horse riding.

Fishing

Elvella Lake (Diga dell’Elvella), Rigo Creek (Torrente Rigo) and Paglia River (Fiume Paglia) are a few kilometers away.

Elvella Lake, was built in 1977, it is a man-made water dam near the village Ponte a Rigo, few kilometers away from S.S. 2 Cassia (3 kilometers from Collolungo and 6 kilometers away from San Lorenzo). This dam is mostly used for watering purposes. The waterbed is very large and deep, surrounded by trees and walking trails. In these waters swim pikes, black bass, chubs, carps and eels.

Rigo Creek (Rigo Creek) water spring is born on the mountain Poggio Gello (762 meters above the sea level) and is a left tributary of the Paglia River which runs on the feet of the village of Celle sul Rigo.

Paglia River is a river of medium water capacity which dries up notably in the summer. The bottom of the river is gravelly and usually there are few little gravel islands merging from the water. This water is good for most type of fishing techniques, from legering to spinning to fly fishing.
