WHERE WE ARE

We are located in Tuscany: On the southern side of the Siena county; On the only piece of land on the border with Umbria and Lazio; In the San Casciano dei Bagni area, at few hundreds of meters from the village of Celle sul Rigo, between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana, on the edge of the “Natural, cultural and artistic park of the Val d’Orcia”, in an authentic agricultural landscape, cultivated with grain, vineyards (wine DOC Orcia) and olive growth (extravergine olive oil DOP Terre di Siena).
SAN CASCIANO DEI BAGNI: it’s only 5 km away from us. Its 46 thermal water sources, known and appreciated since ancient roman times, rich in minerals they are therapeutic and healthy and gush out in bathtubs of water in opened countryside, where it is possible to bathe also during the winter period because of the warmth of the water. If you like you can take a complete program for wellbeing and relax, the Centro Termale Fonteverde (sulphur spring and bath), recently inaugurated, offers treatments of health and beauty.
CELLE SUL RIGO: ancient Castrum de Cellis, is located on a hill 586 meters above the sea level. The name of the country derives from the numerous underground cells dug under the land and from the Rigo torrent, affluent of the river Paglia, that flow through its territory. Its particular structure in urban planning, a quadrangular plant with wide and straight ways, testifies that the village in origin, was a “roman castrum”. The medioeval tower dominates the great public square that on one side shows a landscape of rolling clay hills topped by solitary cypress tree flanking medieval farm houses, enlivened by clefts, oak forests, … ideal places for long walks on foot, on horse, by bicycle. One must not miss out on the cellese typical kitchen: the pici, a particular hand made pasta; the buglione, lamb and game in a spicy sauce; zuccherini (hard cookies) and vinsanto. They all make Celle a country well known from a gastronomic point of view.
